Product Advisory: February 2024

This S2088 model is in no way part of the current national heater recall ordered on Serene Industries Ltd in New Zealand.
This includes where this product image is depicted in various media reports.

For precisely the reasons that casued the recall currently underway;
1. Heatco refused to sell the models of heaters now subject to the recall.
2. Heatco ceased selling anything at all made by Serene in late 2019 per the advisory below.

Product Advisory: 12th November 2019

Heatco have on 12th November 2019 voluntarily ceased selling all Serene Industries Ltd / Serene Living branded products including this S2088 model. 

This is not a product recall or safety notice.  Heatco have never had any concern about the S2088 product's safety. It is electrically safe because it is fully earthed, and it has adequate fire protection because it is all-metal encased with no plastics.

The reasons for ceasing, in order;

1. Serene Industries Ltd have a long history of neglecting or abandoning their electrical safety certifications right across their entire product range. There are many instances recorded of products sold by Serene Industries Ltd in New Zealand and Australia without any safety certification at all.

2. Since 2017 there are numerous unresolved safety and compliance investigation reports filed with the New Zealand Safety Regulator, concerning Serene Industries products that are currently being sold in New Zealand.

3. Serene Industries Ltd are notorious for declining customer warranty claims on their expensive heating products that they promote with a 10 Year warranty, that frequently fail after just weeks or months.

4. Since early 2020 there have been multiple consumer law investigations into Serene Industries Ltd operations in Australia and New Zealand, including by international scam investigators Wikifrauds.
